Day by Day
A day-by-day route through Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh on the 14-day option. Shorter 11 and 12-day versions cover the same route in condensed form.
Arrive in Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya Temple and take a Brahmaputra River cruise.
Drive to Kaziranga National Park. Afternoon or evening safari to spot the one-horned rhino.
Drive from Kaziranga to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.
Local sightseeing in and around Shillong.
Drive to Cherrapunji. Visit the Garden of Caves and Cherrapunji's waterfalls.
Visit Dawki River and Mawlynnong village, then drive back towards Guwahati.
Long drive from Guwahati into Arunachal Pradesh, to Dirang.
Drive to Tawang, crossing Sela Pass and Sela Lake.
Visit Tawang Monastery and explore the local area.
Excursion to Bum La Pass and Madhuri Lake, subject to permits and weather conditions.
Drive from Tawang to Bomdila.
Visit the Bomdila war memorial, then begin the long drive back towards Guwahati.
